Race Description
The fourth annual Roxborough Duathlon is a run, bike, run race for youth age 5 - 12 and a formula one format for youth age 13 - 18 (a repeated run/bike format, see below for more information). This race is for all ability levels. The goal is for athletes to have fun, build self-confidence and get involved in an active lifestyle. The Roxborough Duathlon is brought to you by Kids that TRI, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving back to the community and inspiring kids to be active.
Race Location and Course Description
The race will take place at Roxborough Community Park just off Rampart Range Road in Roxborough, Colorado. Race day parking map is available here. Athletes will run and bike on community paths well staffed by volunteers. Youth will not be running or riding on roads.

A super fun and exciting formula one format that includes a 1 mile run, 1.3 mile bike, 1/2 mile run, 1.3 mile
bike, 1/2 mile run, 1.3 mile bike and a 1/2 mile run. This will be extremely spectator friendly as the youth will be
going through the transition area six times before heading to the finish line.
Each youth will count their own laps.
The Roxborough Duathlon does NOT require youth to have a USA Triathlon membership. This is new this year in an effort to keep costs low and not have registration fees be a hurdle to participating in the event. Each participant will need to sign a waiver at packet pick-up the day before the event. This also means that each youth will race based on their age on the day of the event.
Race Day Schedule (tentative)
9:30am: 13-18 year-olds begin
10:30am: 8-12 year-olds begin
11:45am: 5-7 year-olds begin
*The 8-12 and 5-7 year-olds race will begin after the race prior is completely finished. Please be ready for earlier starts.
Transition Area
There will be one transition area for all youth. It will be organized by age-group and volunteers will help the youth place their equipment accordingly as well as helping to keep the area safe and flowing effectively.
